Jill Ann Storti is the owner of Creations4Occasions. Originally from Philadelphia, she relocated to Greenville, SC in 2005. Jill’s formal education includes a B.S. in Accounting and Finance & an M.B.A. in Business Mgmt. She has 15+ years of experience in Corporate Business. Her natural passion of creating in many art forms, which she inherited from both parents and learned through hands on experience, led her to make the decision to change her career path.
This change in her life unfolded naturally and she ventured into writing a children’s book. She had the pleasure of working on this book with her father, who is an artist. She created a new character and wrote a story which she envisioned to teach children life’s lessons in a fun an exciting way. Her character is Keiko, a loving Koala. she chose the name, because it means “happy child”. Her father brought Keiko to life and the book,“Keiko the Koala” was created.
She spent many months researching the publishing industry before working with an editor and had her book published. It has grown a strong following in parents and children. Children love the story of adventure and parents love the lesson. This book is an introduction to Keiko on an exciting adventure as well as based on the important platform of no bullying, and accepting the differences among one another. It shows in the story what it means to accept your own differences and the differences of others. We are all unique in our own way and it’s our differences which make us special.
Keiko has won awards for the story line and the illustrations. The book was highlighted by Publishers Weekly in one of their magazine article blogs. It has also consistently received 5/5 stars from its readers on Amazon.com. Jill has done many author visits at schools. She was also invited to the West Hollywood book fair, and most recently invited to the 2018 North America Book Expo in New York City at the end of May. She is in the process of updating Keiko’s website to include additional merchandise, and informaion about Koalas and the future they face in Australia and she is working on adding an interactive children’s section “Keiko’s Kids” (password protected) but with parent's permission, will allow children to read monthly short stories, send in pictures of themselves with a Koala and join in activities for prizes. Keiko can be found on www.KeikotheKoala.com.
Following the publishing of her book, she became involved in a favorite and self learned through hands on experience the art of designing floral wreaths and arrangements. She also has spent the last few years designing her version of the charm bracelet and artistic photography. Her focus is on flowers and designs using a high quality artificial synthetic flower. However, she is delighted to design arrangements and bouquets with beautiful live flowers as well.
